Our coast to coast connection…
I have always been so impressed with the business my sister, Tami, started in 2013 “to bring natural paints and custom furniture choices to the South Shore” of Massachusetts. Since she opened Tami has grown Simply Vintage By The Sea from a paint stockist to a full-service studio. Over all this time I’ve often wished we could work together but living so far away it did not seem possible.
Then Tami sent me photos of some beautiful recycled glass beads to use for home decor and I was captivated with them.
We are forever coming up with ideas for new businesses but this time when Tami said “you could make these...,” something clicked! We started talking details, kicking names around, discussing designs and the next thing I knew we were looking for suppliers and registering a business!
The first strand of beads Tami sent me had an oyster shell on it. As I walk the beaches in Northern San Diego I find a different variety of oyster shells here. And of course we love indulging in oysters when we visit all of our favorite coastal towns. So it came to us that the name Oyster Shore evokes not only each of these places but a way of life we want to celebrate.
